Christine Powell Carr 

CUTHBERT — Christine Powell Carr, 78, of Cuthbert died August 23, 2007, at her 
residence. 

Graveside funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. at Salem 
Cemetery in Edison. 

Mrs. Carr was born October 19, 1928, in Lawrence County, TN, daughter of the 
late Clifford Powell and Ozell White Powell. She was a member of Salem Baptist 
Church, a homemaker and was married to the late John Delwood Carr. 

Survivors include a son, Gerald Carr of Cuthbert; a daughter, Zelda and her 
husband, Jerry Hillhouse of Leesburg; two brothers, William Powell of Staten 
Island, NY, and Floyd Powell of Lawrenceville, TN; four grandchildren, Shellie 
Morrill, Jerry Lee (Kippy) Hillhouse, Terri Lynn (Larry) Cagle and John Robert 
(Lindsey) Hillhouse; five great-grandchildren, Heather Morrill, Ryan Morrill, 
April Cagle, Taylor Hillhouse and Samantha Hillhouse; and two special 
companions, Big Boy and Sister. 

The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lunsford Funeral 
Home.
