Willie E. Gray 

DAWSON — Willie E. Gray, 69, of Cuthbert, GA, died on Saturday, August 18, 
2007, at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home, Cuthbert, GA. 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 25, 2007, at St. 
Luke Missionary Baptist Church, Cuthbert, GA. Rev. Dwylan Glover, pastor will 
officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Cilia Interdenominational Church Cemetery, 
Carnegie, GA. 

Sister Willie Eva Mitchner ‘Nina’ Greene Gray was born May 8, 1938, to the 
parentage of the late Eddie Mitchner, Sr. and Polly Mitchner. 

At an early age, she became a member of the Benevolence Missionary Baptist 
Church and later moved her membership to Saint Luke Missionary Baptist Church 
where she served faithfully as a Deaconess until her health failed. 

She attended the Randolph County Public School System. She married Ezekial 
Greene, Sr. who preceded her in death. Several years later she was married to 
Lonzie Gray, Sr. who also preceded her in death. 

‘Ma’ departed her life on August 18, 2007, at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home, 
Cuthbert, GA, surrounded by her children. 

Those left to cherish her precious memories are her mother, Polly Mitchner of 
Cocoa, FL; her children, Gloria G. Battle (Ret. 1st Sgt. Melvin) of Killeen, 
TX, Jerry Greene, Larry Greene, Betty G. Parkman, and Demetrist R. Jackson 
(Randy), all of Cuthbert, GA; two stepsons, Ezekial Greene, Jr. (Martha) of 
Providence, RI, and Lonzie Gray, Jr. of Cocoa, FL; a grandchild she raised, 
Keshia McDaniel (Eric) of Cuthbert, GA; three brothers, Eddie Mitchner 
(Forrestyne) and Clarence Mitchner, both of Sharpes, FL, and Frank Mitchner 
(Emma) of Cocoa, FL; one sister, Daisy Mann of Cocoa, FL; three aunts, Mae 
Lizzie Freeman of Cocoa, FL, Ruby Freeman of Richland, GA, and Louise Burks of 
Cuthbert, GA; two brothers-in-law, Reverend Clarence Greene, Sr. (Betty) of 
Orlando, FL, and Reverend Aaron Edmondson, Sr. (Mary) of Albany, GA; two 
sisters-in-law, Eva Gray of Cuthbert, GA; a special cousin, Yvonne Mitchner of 
Cuthbert, GA; a special friend of the family, Charlie Murphy of Cuthbert, GA; 
eighteen grandchildren; sixteen great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, 
nephews, other family members and friends.
