Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Pebble City Baptist Church, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Glenn Hobby will officiate. Born June 30, 1936 in Mitchell County, Mrs. Carter was a hairdresser and a member of Pebble City Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late A.J. Hart Sr. and Minnie Mae Boatwright Hart. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Harris. Survivors include her husband, Ike S. Carter of Sale City; three daughters, Michelle Collins of Thomasville, Angel Barfield of Sale City and Pam Lewis of Maryville, TN; a son, Lance Lewis of Cairo; four stepchildren, Charles Carter of Funston, Gail Littleton of Moultrie, Vivian William and Dan Carter, both of Pelham; five sisters, Ruth Stinson of Camilla, Teva Poitevint of Bainbridge, Jayn Almand of Lake Blackshear, Pauline Lewis and Betty Willingham, both of Sale City; and nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. today (Sunday) at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Amyloidosis Research c/o Mayo Clinic.
