Laurette Bowers Chambless 

DAWSON — Laurette Bowers Chambless, formerly of Dawson, died on Friday, July 
27, 2007 in Montgomery, AL. The funeral service will be held today (Monday) at 
3 p.m. at the graveside in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Dawson, with Dr. Wyman 
Richardson officiating. 

Mrs. Chambless was born in Webster County, GA, June 17, 1926, daughter of the 
late George W. Bowers and Laura Fay Stubbs Bowers. She lived most of her life 
in Dawson and was married to the late John H. Chambless of Dawson who died in 
1987. She moved to Montgomery in 2004 to live near her children. 

She was a homemaker and enjoyed canning vegetables and fruits from her garden. 
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Dawson. 

Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Ellen Chambless and Kathy Lynn Ward 
and her husband, Karl, all of Montgomery, AL; and a grandson, Chris Ward also 
of Montgomery. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. 

Memorials may be made to a local Alzheimer’s Assn., or to Georgia Chapter of 
Alzheimer’s at 1512-1 Gillionville Rd., Albany, GA 31707. 

Visitation will be from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. today (Monday) at Harvey Funeral Home.
