The graveside funeral service of Betty Pope Mayo Chavers, 76, of  Meadow Woods 
Drive, Albany, GA, formerly of Montezuma, GA, who died December 27, 2006, will 
be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Saturday, December 30, 2006, at Pinecrest Cemetery 
in Vidalia, GA.  Elder Joe Nettles will officiate.  

A native of Vidalia, GA, born to Herschel and Mamie Brantley Pope, Mrs. Chavers 
had resided in Montezuma, GA, for over forty years until recently moving to 
Albany.  Mrs. Chavers was a retired bookkeeper for the West Central Georgia 
Agency in Montezuma, GA. She was a member of Plains Baptist Church, active in 
the Silver Stars, and an avid gardener.  

Survivors include her husband, A. Clyde Chavers of Plains, GA, two daughters, 
Charlane Mathews and her husband, Mike, and Jackie Theidel, and her husband, 
Rick, both of Albany, a son, David C. Mayo and his wife, Dawn, of Cordele, GA, 
four grandchildren, Tracy Mathews Ethridge and her husband, Allen, of Albany, 
Clarke Mayo and Catherine Mayo both of Cordele, and Chloe A. Theidel of Albany, 
two sisters, Sarah Pope Maddox of Lyons, GA, and Helen Pope Kennington of 
Macon, GA,
