Polly Jewel Driver, 86, of Albany, Georgia, died Saturday, August 11, 2007. 
Survivors include a son, Stanley W. Driver and his wife, Sandra Driver of 
Leesburg, GA., two daughters, Peggy J. Johnson of Whispering Pines, NC., 
Sharlotte Brookerd and her husband, Wannie C. Brookerd of Albany, GA., four 
grandchildren, Marsha L. Chambers, Pamela L. Edwards, Kimberly M. Hooks and 
Stanley W. Driver, Jr., two great-grandchildren, Hayley Jewel Chambers and 
Jackson G. Driver.

Mrs. Driver was born in Dothan, AL., in 1921, graduated from Campbellton High 
School and moved to Albany, GA from Blakely, with her husband, Henry, in 1942. 
She was a Charter Member of the Albany Seventh Day Adventist Church and for 
many years was their beloved Sabbath School teacher. Mrs. Driver was a 
homemaker and avid volunteer and was devoted to her family and friends. She 
also worked for many years as a Crossing Guard for Highland Elementary School 
and was a Nurses Aide at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She was a sponsoring 
Foster Parent for abandoned and under privileged infants in the Albany district.

Mrs. Driver enjoyed crocheting, sewing, gardening, reading, painting, music, 
playing the guitar and singing. She was also passionately involved with causes 
relating to animal rights  and took great pride in her efforts to aide numerous 
abandoned animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry R. Driver, 
sister, Edna E. Williams and son-in-law, James M. Johnson.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 13, 2007 from 7 p.m. to 9 
p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home, Albany, GA., Funeral services will take place on 
Tuesday, August 14, 2007 at 3:00 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home. Interment will 
follow immediately thereafter in Riverside Cemetery. Pastor Steve Rose will 
preside.

 In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make donations to either the Albany 
Humane Society or the Albany Seventh Day Adventist Church.
The family is at the residence of Stanley and Sandra Driver, 2777 Palmyra Rd., 
Leesburg, GA.
