Charles E. Duffer

ALBANY — Charles E. Duffer of Albany, formerly of Portland and Gallatin, 
Tennessee passed away, Friday, February 7, 2003 at his residence following a 
lengthy illness.

Mr. Duffer was an automotive mechanic for many years before going to work for 
the Marine Corp Logistics Base in Albany, from which he retired in February 
1987.

Mr. Duffer is survived by his loving family: wife, Cecile Caulder Duffer of 
Albany; three daughters and sons-in-law, Doloress Seeley and her husband, 
William of Barrington, IL, Lisa Allen and her husband, Andy of Kennesaw, GA, 
and Sherry Royal and her husband, David of Lee County; four grandchildren, 
William Charles Seeley and his wife, Alyssa and their daughter, Emily of San 
Francisco, CA, Kristin Seeley-Shedlock and her husband, Michael of Chicago, IL, 
and Kevin Royal and Amanda Royal of Lee County; a brother, John Duffer of 
Gallatin, TN; a sister, Willa Mae Fort of Hendersonville, TN; and number of 
nieces and nephews.

In Mr. Duffer's 76 years, he touched a lot of people and had a positive 
influence on all our lives. He will be greatly missed by all. He leaves a void 
in our hearts that can never be filled.

Private funeral services will be conducted by the Rev. Gordon Poole of Poulan. 
Interment will be at Crown Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, Memorial/Honorial 
Fund, P.O. Box 1923, Albany, GA 31702.
