Mathews Funeral Home - Obituaries
The graveside funeral service of James Tilford Elton, 83, of Gillespie Ave., 
who died Sunday June 17, 2007 will be conducted Thursday 10:00 a.m. at Crown 
Hill Cemetery. Rev. Chip Gresham will officiate.

A native of Ashley Co., Arkansas, Mr. Elton had resided in Albany for the past 
forty years moving from Oakridge, TN. He was the owner/operator of Elton’s 
Restaurant before retirement, a veteran of WW II serving in he Navy, a former 
member of the Exchange Club of Oakridge, TN. and a member of Calvary Baptist  
Church. Mr. Elton was preceded in death by this wife, Patty Bramlett Elton and 
a step-son, Bill Sikes.

Survivors include a son, Dennis Elton, South Haven, MS., a daughter, Sheila 
Spaulding, Cumming, GA., two step-daughters, Donna Holley, Duluth, GA. and 
Gloria Topmiller, Albany, GA., three sisters, Maybelle Childs, Tennessee City, 
TN., Christine Dean, Lathaway, FL. and Becky Williams, Durmont, AR., eleven 
grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Mathews Funeral 
Home.
