J. Burgamy, Sr. Heart Attack Victim "Jeff Burgamy Dies After Heart Attack" J. J. (Jeff) Burgamy, 48, Albany restaurant operator and former special investigator for City Court, died suddenly around 5 a.m. today at his home, 414 Residence Ave. Death was attributed to a heart attack. Mr. Burgamy was reported to have been as well as usual yesterday. He was found dead in his bed early this morning. Moved Here in 1923 Owner and operator of Jeff's Restaurant in the Albany Arcade, Mr. Burgamy moved to Albany in 1923 from Sandersville and two years later, went to Tampa, Fla., where he became a member of the police department. Returning to Albany in 1927, he was made a member of the Dougherty County Police Department, serving until 1941. He was a member of the Sandersville Methodist Church and of Albany Lodge 713, B.P.O.E. Mr. Burgamy is survived by his wife the former Miss Fanny Railey of Moultrie; one son, Jeff Burgamy, Jr.; outstanding Albany High School athlete; two brothers, Burd Burgamy of Atlanta, and Floyd Burgamy of Davisboro, and one sister, Mrs. F. A. Herring of Atlanta. Funeral Saturday The funeral service will be conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. in the First Methodist Church by the Rev. L. A. Harrell, pastor. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be announced later by the Albany Undertaking Company which is in charge of arrangements.
