A. Wallace Sunday Afternoon" ___________________________ Spanish War Veteran to Have Charge of Interment in Oakview Cemtery The funeral of Mr. F. A. Wallce, 62, who died last night from injuries sustained when his automobile crashed into a telephone pole on the Radium Springs road Monday night, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. W. Raleigh White will conduct the service. William E. Wooten Camp, United Spanish War Veterans, will have charge of the interment, which will follow in Oakview Cemetery. Earlier this week, Mr. Wallace had been reported recovering rapidly from his injuries, and his death, which followed a serious relapse late yesterday afternoon and last night, came as a severe shock to his many friends. Mr. Wallace was born in East Dougherty County and had lived in this section most of his life. He served with the American forces during the Spanish-American war and was a charter member of the William E. Wooten Camp, United Spanish War Veterans. He served in various offices in the Camp many times. Mr. Wallace was one of the first employees of The Albany Herald after it was established 47 years ago. After that time, he went into the retail grocery business and later into wholesale produce business, operating the Wallace Commission Co. Later he began working as at traveling salseman in the produce business and was so employed at the time of his death. Surviving besides his wife are four children, Mrs. W. L. Tedders, Gertrude Walker, Mr. F. A. Wallace, Jr., and Mr. Mercer Lane Wallace, all of Albany; three brothers, Messrs, L. P. Wallace and W. L. Wallace of Cuthbert, and Mr. J. D. Wallace of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. Tucker Peek of Cuthbert, and Mrs. Elzie Rowsey of Coleman, and two grandchildren, Jacquelin and Buddy Tedders. Active pall bearers will be Messrs, Reeves Arthur, Jr., Paul Arthur, L. M. Jarrard, H. T. McIntosh, Mercer Brown and J. H. Hill. Honorary pall bearers will be: R. R. Arthur, W. M. Wilder, George Callaway, J. I. Gilbert, C. R. Davis, Walter Hill, W. E. Peters, C. B. Ellis, Dr. A. R. Hilsman, Dr. N. R. Thomas, Dr. P. K. Neill, M. W. Tift, W. O. Pearson, Hollis Lanier, Emmett Jones, Carl Neuman and Gordon Reynolds. Both active and honorary pall bearers are asked to meet at the chapel of the Albany Undertaking Co. at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon.
