Sept 6, 1940 died Thurs Sept 5, 1940 "Auto Accident Injuries Fatal to H. W. Johnson" "Prominent Dougherty Countian Dies in Blakely Hospital" Mr. Henry W. Johnson, 76-year old prominent East Doughtery county farmer, died in the Holland Hospital in Blakely early this morning from injuries received in an automobile accident about four miles east of Blakely yesterday morning. Mr. Johnson was a member of the Acree Baptist church and was a member of the Doughtery County commission 25 years. He was born and reared in East Dougherty and farmed there all his life. He had numerous friends throughout Southwest Georgia who were shocked and grieved to learn of his death. Mr. Johnson is survived by three sons, Messrs, R. E. Johnson of Albany, Walker Johnson also of Albany and James Johnson of Miami, Fla.; six daughters, Mrs. E. E. Lee of Albany, Mrs. E. W. Padison of Mt. Airy, N.C., Mrs. Emory Butler of Camilla, Mrs. R. L. Grace of Albany, Miss Jewel Johnson of Albany and Mrs. Hugh McClure of Mobile Ala.; eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon at 4 o'clock at Dr. R. L. Grace's residence on the Dawson Road. The service will be conducted by Dr. W. Raleigh White, pastor of the First Baptist church, assisted by the Rev. J. ed Fain, pastor of the First Methodist church and Dr. L. G. Henderson, pastor of the First Presbyterian church. Interment will follow in Oakview Cemetery. The following pall bearers are requested to meet at the Ivey Funeral Home tomorrow afternoon at 3:15 o'clock. Active: Messrs, W. C. Holman, J. W. Bush, J.
