Johnson fired Upon Him and He Replied With Fatal Effect" Pelham, Ga. June 10 - (Special) - Farman Dollar, a prominent white farmer of Decatur county shot and killed Will Johnson, an employee of Alex Godwin, a farmer of this county, just over the line in Decatur County, about eight miles southwest of here yesterday. Sometime ago Alex Godwin shot Dollar during a dispute over some of the latter's sheep, which Dollar supposed Godwin had penned in his, Godwin's pasture. Yesterday, a negro reported to Johnson that Dollar was at Godwin's pasture again, when Johnson, who was plowing, hitched his mule, went by his home, got his gun, a Winchester rifle and went to the pasture. Finding Dollar near the pasture, he fired at him twice, neither shot taking effect. On his attempting to fire the third time Dollar shot him with a double barreled shot gun loaded with bushshot, four shots striking him in the arm breast and abdomen. He lived until 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. The above account is from both the statements of Johnson and Dollar, Johnson only claiming he did not shoot to hit, but only to frighten Dollar away from the pasture.
