Maidee Johnson Grubbs

SYLVESTER — Maidee Johnson Grubbs, 97, of Ga. Hwy. 33 S., Sylvester, died 
Wednesday, October 23, 2002, at her residence.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Pinson Memorial United Methodist Church 
with interment in Hillcrest Cemetery. Dr. Dan Williamson will officiate.

A native of Troup County, Mrs. Grubbs was born April 1, 1905. She had lived in 
Worth County since 1966, moving from Decatur, GA. She was a homemaker and a 
member of Sylvester Garden Club. She was formerly named Mother of the Year by 
the Sylvester Junior Woman's Club. She was a member of Pinson United Methodist 
Church where she was a member of the Maude O'Sheal Sunday School Class and the 
Pinson Circle. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Rayburn 
Johnson and Overton Hearn Johnson. Her husband, Joseph M. Grubbs, preceded her 
in death January 7, 1990, and a daughter, Betty Jo Lowrimore in June, 2000.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mae G. and Joe K. Shiver of 
Sylvester; son-in-law, the Rev. Ralph T. Lowrimore of Casey, SC; and a special 
friend, Margaret Lodge of Sylvester; six grandchildren and seven great-
grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 p.m.- 9 p.m. today at Banks Funeral Home.
