George D Obituary of George Drake Born 1898

George D. Drake 60, of 201 Hill St. died Friday night after lengthy illness.  He was born in Albany 
and lived here all his life.  He was a veteran of World War I.  Attended Byne Memorial Baptist church 
and was a member of Masonic Lodge 24, F&AM.  For many years he owned a grocery business.  Surviving 
are his wife the former Katie Kolbie: two children, Marion T. Drake of New York and Roy Drake of Albany; 
A grandson, Victor D. Drake of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. E.C Albritton (Janie Elizabeth) of Quincy 
Florida and Mrs. C. Paul (Minnie Ola) of Pasadena, California.  

Funeral services for George D. Drake will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Woodall 
Funeral Home.  The Rev. E. I. Lewis will officiate and interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery.
