Drake 60, of 201 Hill St. died Friday night after lengthy illness. He was born in Albany and lived here all his life. He was a veteran of World War I. Attended Byne Memorial Baptist church and was a member of Masonic Lodge 24, F&AM. For many years he owned a grocery business. Surviving are his wife the former Katie Kolbie: two children, Marion T. Drake of New York and Roy Drake of Albany; A grandson, Victor D. Drake of Albany; two sisters, Mrs. E.C Albritton (Janie Elizabeth) of Quincy Florida and Mrs. C. Paul (Minnie Ola) of Pasadena, California. Funeral services for George D. Drake will be conducted Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Woodall Funeral Home. The Rev. E. I. Lewis will officiate and interment will follow in Oak View Cemetery.
