Pye Redstar36@aol.com May 19, 2004, 12:16 pm Albany Herald, Albany, Ga. 24 Apr 1992 Obituary - Vernell Bryan The funeral service of Vernell "Barney" Bryan, 64, of 906 Barbaragale Ave., who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday at Sunnyside Baptist Church with interment in Crown Hill Cemetery with Masonic Rites. A native of Pelham, Mr. Bryan had lived in Albany for most of his life. He was a retired engineer for the Georgia Department of Transportation and deputy director for the Dougherty County Public Works Department, He was a member and deacon of Sunnyside Baptist. Mr. Bryan was also a Mason and had served as past master of Triangle Lodge No. 708 F&AM, past commander, high priest of the York Rite Bodies; Georgia Priory No. 39 KYCH. He was also a member of Hasan Temple and past commander of the Legion of Honor. Mr. Bryan was a veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife Trudy Bryan of Albany; a son, Paul C. Bryan of Albany; two daughters, Lanelle Harrell and Judy Wallace, both of Leesburg; his mother, Gladys Pye of Albany; and seven grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hall & Hall Funeral Directors here. Additional Comments: Step-brother to Donald L. Pye.
