Agnew Elijah Harris

ALBANY — Agnew Elijah (Jap) Harris, 56, of Avalon Forest Drive, Lawrenceville, 
GA, formerly of Albany, died Saturday, October 5, 2002, at Phoebe Putney 
Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Second Mt. Olive Baptist 
Church (Sports Complex) with interment in Roselawn Gardens Cemetery. The Rev. 
Lorenzo L. Heard will officiate.

A native of Dougherty County, Mr. Harris attended the public schools of 
Dougherty County and Albany Technical College where he obtained a certificate 
in culinary arts. He served active duty in the Vietnam War having received an 
honorable discharge in 1972. He was a member of the American Disabled Chapter 
in Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Reid Harris of Lawrenceville, formerly of 
Albany; five children, Alexis Harris and Jordan Harris, both of Lawrenceville, 
Zenola Harris of Harlem, N.Y., Deidra Colmon and Darnell Harris, both of 
Charlotte, N.C.; mother, Ella Louise Terry and father, Elijah Honey Harris, 
both of Albany; four brothers, Wendell Harris and James Harris of Albany, 
Apostle Alexander Harris and Michael Harris of Blakely; four sisters, Tyra 
Mathis of Albany, Edna Hardy of Manhattan, N.Y., Letia Tinson and Samuella Lee 
of Blakely.
