Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home in Bryan, Texas. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station. Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery. Mrs. Haugen was born in Camilla, GA, and was a member of Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church in College Station. She was a military wife for 18 years and lived in Japan, France, Taiwan, Germany and the United States. She moved to College Station in 1964 when her husband retired from the Army. She attended Valdosta State College and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in home economics. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in food technology and a Master’s degree in agriculture from Texas A&M University. Before her marriage, Mrs. Haugen worked as a dietician at Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL. After she was married, she worked as a dietician in the American School in Kyoto, Japan. In College Station, she worked as a dietician with Texas A&M University Food Service and later as a dietician with the College Station Independent School District. She was a registered dietician with the American Dietetic Association and was a member of the American Association of University Women. Survivors include her husband, O.O. Haugen of College Station; son, Paul O. Haugen of London, England; daughter and son-in- law, Fran and Alan-Jon Zupan of Columbia, SC; sister, Charlotte Bryant of Camilla; and two grandchildren, Brady and Suzannah Zupan of Columbia, SC.
