Mathews Funeral Home - Obituaries
April 29, 1924
June 26, 2007

The funeral service of Ruth Hearn, 83, of Canterbury Court, Albany, GA., who 
died Tuesday June 26, 2007 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, will be 
conducted Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Sherwood Baptist Church Chapel. Dr.. Michael 
C. Catt and Ross Powell will officiate. Interment will follow in Andersonville 
National Cemetery.
 
A native of  Franklinville, NC. Mrs. Hearn had lived in Albany for the past 23 
years moving from Columbia, SC. She was a Cosmetics Consultant at Belk 
Department Store and was a member of Sherwood Baptist Church. Mrs. Hearn was 
preceded in death by her husband, Walter Franklin Hearn, Jr.
 
Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Hearn of Greenville, SC and Sherry Cook 
of Seaside Park, NJ, a sister, Mary Lois Newton of Dothan, AL, grandchildren, 
Jerry and Sharon Cook, Wendy and John Donahue and Libby and Jeff Ludwig. Great-
grandchildren, Christian and Carlysle Cook and Clayton Donahue, devoted friends 
Roy and Sara Miller.
 
The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mathews 
Funeral Home.
