George Hunt Jr.

ALBANY — George Hunt Jr., 70, of Whitney Ave., who died Wednesday, November 27, 
2002 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital.

Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, in Riverside Cemetery with the 
Rev. J.A. Severson and Brother Marion Holliday officiating.

Mr. Hunt was born in Lee County to the late George Sr., and Annie Bell 
McFarland Hunt. He lived most of his life in Albany, he was employed for Pope 
Burial Vault Company in Albany for over 20 years, before starting his own 
business Hunt Burial Vault Company, Inc., in 1964 in which he was president of 
the company at the time of his death. He was married to Otha Walker Hunt, 
February 2, 1955 and lived in a blessed and happy marriage until his death.

Mr. Hunt was widely known and loved by all who came in contact with him. He 
enjoyed cooking all type food on the grill and smoking meat for all type of 
occasion for all to enjoy.

Mr. Hunt to cherish his wonderful life and memory, a beautiful and loving wife, 
Otha Hunt; one brother, Timothy Hunt of Columbus; a God sent special son 
Frederick Stafford; a very loyal and special friends, Daisy Hall Thomas and 
Leroy Taylor.
