His memorial service will be MONDAY 2 PM at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. The Rt. Reverend Henry I. Louttit and the Rev. Gedge Gayle will officiate. His remains will be interred at All Saints Episcopal Church in Atlanta. The family will receive friends following the memorial service in the Parish Hall at St. Paul’s. A native of Birmingham, AL, he graduated from Emory University in 1957, where he became a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. The Rev. Jenkins graduated from seminary at the University of the South (Sewanee), and did post-graduate studies at Virginia Theological Seminary. Father Jenkins served many churches in the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia, including St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Albany, and St. Thomas, Isle of Hope, Savannah. He also served at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. He was an Army veteran and a member of the Albany Rotary Club. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Anita Hewell Jenkins. The Rev. Jenkins is survived by his two daughters: Margaret Hewell Jenkins, Savannah, Elizabeth Jenkins Bush and her husband Matthew, Savannah; 2 grandsons: Clay Gordon Bush and Henry James Bush, both of Savannah. Those desiring may send memorial contributions to the general scholarship fund at Emory University, Emory Alumni Development, 1762 Clifton Rd., Plaza 1000, Atlanta, GA 30322.
