The funeral was Tuesday at Flat Creek Baptist Church with interment in Flat Creek Cemetery. The Rev. Mickey Lindsey officiated. A native of Berrien County, Mr. King was born August 30, 1908. His parents were the late Simmie King and Minnie McMillan. He was a member of Flat Creek Baptist Church and served as Chairman of the Berrien County DEFACS Board for over 60 years. He was a former deacon of First Baptist Church and was a very faithful and humble man. Survivors include his wife, Alma Watson King of Nashville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Anita and Wendell Nix of Bainbridge and Janice and Paul Howze of Springfield; a son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Geraldine King of Nashville; two sisters, Alma Connell of Nashville and Thelma Davis of Tifton; 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
