Nita Shiver Leonard

ALBANY — The funeral service of Nita Shiver Leonard, 80, of Albany, who died 
Saturday, January 15, 2005, at Palmyra Medical Centers, will be conducted at 3 
p.m. today (Monday) at Byne Memorial Baptist Church. Dr. Michael Gravette and 
the Rev. Ray Bowman will officiate. Interment will follow in Crown Hill 
Cemetery.

A native of Mitchell County, GA, Mrs. Leonard had resided in Albany for 60 
years, she was the widow of the late Gordon E. Leonard. Mrs. Leonard was a 
member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church, the Joy Sunday School Class and was 
selected Mrs. Palmyra Nursing Home of 2004. The last four years of her life 
were spent at Palmyra Nursing Home where she was a friend and an inspiration to 
many.

Survivors include two daughters, Jan Leonard Vaughan of Terra Ceia, FL, and 
Debbie Leonard Reynolds and her husband Glenn of Albany; two sisters, Vida S. 
Edge and Lola S. McGee, both of Albany; grandchildren, Jenna Elliott Randall of 
Sarasota, FL, Wesley Reynolds of Athens, Kiley Reynolds and Todd Reynolds, both 
of Albany, Matthew Stockton of Augusta; great-grandchildren, Zack Joel and 
Barbara Jordan Elliott, both of Sarasota, FL; two nephews, Chuck Shiver of 
Arkansas, and Jerry Shiver of Ohio.

The family is at the residence of Glenn and Debbie Reynolds, Acker Dr., Albany, 
GA.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Living The Legacy, c/o Byne 
Memorial Baptist Church, 2832 Ledo Rd., Albany, GA 31707 or the American Heart 
Assoc., P.O. Box 409410, Atlanta, GA 30384-9410.
