Jean Ross Long 

ALBANY — The funeral service of Jean Ross Long, 68, of Dawson, GA, who died 
September 10, 2007, will be conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at Mathews Funeral 
Home. Rev. Al Wilbourn and Rev. Hilton Gillespie will officiate. Interment will 
follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. 

A native of Seminole County, GA, Mrs. Long grew up in Donalsonville and 
graduated from Seminole County High School in 1957. She moved to Albany in 1961 
and lived there until the flood of 1994 when she moved to Dawson. 

The widow of Thomas V. Long, Mrs. Long was formerly employed with the law 
office of Don McClure. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Dawson 
and a member of The Sweet and Sassy Red Hatters. 

Survivors include her two sons and their wives, Mike and Christa Long of 
Sylvester, GA, and Darren and Beverly Long of Willow Springs, NC; two daughters 
and their husbands, Sheryl and Keith Edwards of Sylvester, GA, and Michelle and 
Randy Adams of Leesburg, GA; her mother, Mavis Ross Biven of Albany, GA; two 
sisters, Liz Marler of Albany, GA, and Janie Barnes and her husband, Ed of 
Crestview, FL; a brother and his wife, George and Carol Ross of Orange Lake, 
FL; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in 
death by her father, Walter Lester Ross, Sr. and her brother, Walter Lester 
Ross, Jr. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday (today) from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at 
Mathews Funeral Home. 

The family is at the residence of Mrs. Mavis Ross Biven, 2406 Nottingham Way, 
Albany, GA, 31707.
