Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at The Apostolic Church of Jesus, with Elder Franklin Smith, pastor and Bishop Gregory Johnson officiating. Winta Slaton Majors was born to Johnny James Slaton Sr. and Juliette Allen Slaton on August 12, 1969 in Albany. She attended school in Dougherty County, Winta received her Associates of Arts degree from Albany Junior College, now Darton College. Winta leaves to cherish her memories two sons, Kevin Slaton and Kristopher Majors, both of Albany; devoted and loving parents, Johnny James Slaton Sr. and Juliette Allen Slaton of Albany; a grandmother, Kate Slaton of Blakely(now residing in Alamagorda, NM) three sisters, Katherine Slaton Clinton of Mt. Laurel, NJ, Gwendolyn Slaton Smith of Ashburn, VA, and Karen Slaton Dixon of Suwannee, GA; one brother, Johnny James Jr. of Memphis, TN; one brother who preceded her in death, Carlton Slaton; one niece, Keelin Dixon; three nephews, Gary Michael Smith Jr., Walker Andreas Clinton, and Kodie Dixon; foster siblings, Tamika Mathis, Sentana Mathis, Michael Brown, Courtney Moore, and Eric Royal; a former husband, Alfred Majors; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
