The graveside funeral service of Marvin Joseph McConnell, 78, of Jewell St., 
who died  Friday June 29, 2007 at his residence will be conducted Tuesday July 
3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Andersonville Nat’l. Cemetery, Andersonville, GA.

A native of Winneshick Co., Iowa, Mr. McConnell had resided in Albany since 
1998 moving from Autrieville, Ga. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in 
the Army and was an accomplished fiddle player, playing with many groups, 
including Pullengrass, Boston City Limits, Cotton Boll Express and currently 
playing with the Country Gents, playing for benefits, special events and 
nursing homes. He was retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and was of the 
Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Virginia Clark Peak McConnell, Albany, GA., 
three step-daughters, Judy Rehberg, Autrieville, GA., Glenda Wilcox, 
Thomasville, GA., Susan Womack and her husband, J.B., Leesburg, GA. and a step-
son, Ferrell Yates and his wife Carmen, Andersonville, GA., step-grandchildren, 
John Rehberg, Trey Burgess, Dottie Kitchens and four step-great-grandchildren.

Those desiring may make memorials to Shriner’s Transportaion Fund, c/o  Hasan 
Shrine Center, 1822 Palmyra Rd., Albany, Georgia, 31701
