McCoy ALBANY — Matthew J. McCoy, 89, of Albany died Thursday, January 30, 2003, at Palmyra Nursing Home following a brief illness. His funeral service will be Monday 11 a.m. at St. Teresa's Catholic Church with entombment to follow at Crown Hill Mausoleum. The Rev. Finbarr Stanton will officiate. A native of Philadelphia, PA, Mr. McCoy had lived in Albany since 1952 when Merck transferred him to help open the Albany Plant. He retired from Merck in 1976 with 43 years of service. Mr. McCoy was a member of St. Teresa's Catholic Church and was a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus. He served as a volunteer with the Dougherty/Lee Unit of the American Cancer Society. An avid golfer and athlete, he was a member of Radium Springs Country Club and in his youth he was a champion sculler with Schuykill Boathouse in Philadelphia, PA. A prayer service will be held at Kimbrell-Stern Sunday at 7 PM with visitation to follow until 9 PM.
