McCraney ALBANY — Travis L. McCraney, 82, of 11th Ave., died Friday, August 29, 2003 at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Kimbrell-Stern Chapel with interment to follow at Crown Hill Cemetery. The Revs. Ray Bowman and John Tarrer will officiate. A native of Dothan, AL, Mr. McCraney had lived in Albany for more than 40 years. He was a member of Byne Memorial Baptist Church for over 40 years and was a Sunday School Teacher for 13 years. He was a previous owner of Mac Motor Shop in Dothan, AL, and was owner/operator of Sowega Electric Motors in Albany since 1953. He was a Past Master for Albany Lodge No. 24 F&AM and also served as chaplain of Roamin Winnies for more than 25 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Carolyn Ennis McCraney of Albany; two daughters, Bobbie McCraney Cox and husband, Ron and June McCraney Pelham, all of Albany; four grandchildren, Denise L. Miller and husband, Matt, Daniel Thomas Pelham III, Travis L. Pelham, all of Albany, and Gina Pelham Evenhuis and husband, Eric of Ogden, UT; two great-grandchildren, Savannah Rose Evenhuis and Mason Alexander Evenhuis; a sister, Viola Shelly and husband, Jeffrey of Dothan, AL. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Remus McCraney and LaHoma McCraney.
