Barbara Jean Carnes Newberry

  ARLINGTON — Barbara Jean Carnes Newberry, 82, of 18 Mayfair Ave.,Arlington,  
died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at Phoebe Putney Memorial
Hospital.

  The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Arlington United Methodist Church 
with interment in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Rev.Tommy Newberry and the Rev.
Debbie Cone will officiate. Active pallbearers will be Gene
Melvin, Ken Craft, John Olin Newberry, Hal Newberry, Robert
Newberry and James Leslie Newberry.

  Born May 18, 1923, in Terrell(Caufman Co.), Texas, to J.E. and
Josephine Zuspany Carnes, Mrs. Newberry had lived in Georgia for
the past 62 years. She was a pharmacy clerk and a member of
Arlington   United   Methodist Church.

  Survivors include her daughter and husband, Jean S. Bostwick
and Turner of Arlington; four sons and  their  wives,  John  0.
Newberry Jr. and Ginger of Birmingham, AL, Hal Newberry
and Vicki of Winter Park, CO, Robert Newberry and Cindy of
Winter Park, CO, and James Leslie  Newberry and  Kris of
Winter Park, C0;3 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

  In addition to her .parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, John Olin Newberry. The family will receive friends
at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Turner Bostwick, 151 Pioneer St.,
Arlington.
