Pye, 87, died peacefully at his home in Houston, Texas Sunday morning, October 26, 2000. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a great friend to all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his devoted wife of 69 years, Frances Kemp Pye; a son, Gregory Pye and wife, Mary Ann, of Devine, Texas; grandson, Garrett Pye and wife, Robyn; granddaughter, Page Pye Schwertner and husband Brian, all of Houston, Texas. He was born on May 6, 1319 in Leesville, LA. He graduated with a BBA degree from the University of Texas, Austin, in 1934. Served as 1st Lieutenant in the U.S. Army 1943-45. Moved to Houston in 1049 and was an oil company executive for many years until he retired from Claude B. Hamill Oil Company as Treasurer, in 1979. He was a member of the American Institute of CPA's, Texas Society of CPA's, Tax Executive Institute, Pine Forest Country Club and faithful member of Tallowood Baptist Church since 1964. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Monday, October 30, 2000, at Earthman's Hunters Creek Chapel. Funeral will take place Tuesday, October 31, 2000 at Tallowood Baptist Church at 10: a.m., 555 Tallowood, Houston, Texas. Burial will be at Memorial Oaks Cemetery.
