King were conducted this afternoon in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. G. Ralph Madson, rector. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. An honorary escort was formed by Masons of Albany and by Albany Post 30 of the American Legion. Mr. King, 39, 1516 Fifth Ave. died Friday afternoon in Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minn. after a two-week illness. He was born Aug 26, 1916 in Savannah, the son of Ida Mae King and the late Ziba Frank King. Mr. King came to Albany in 1931 and graduated from Albany High School in 1937. He played on the Albany High School football team. At the time of his death, he was connected with the Engineering and Equipment Company of this city. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was a veteran of World War II. He saw service in the Pacific theather with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of Legion Post 30, the 40 & *, and also a member of Triangle Lodge 708, F & A. M. He is survived by his wife, the former Miss Peggy Torbett of Albany; three children, Charles, Sally and Mack King, all of Albany; his mother Mrs. Z. F. King of Albany and three brothers, Maj. Thomas F. King (USA Ret) and Morris King both of Albany, and James King of Norfolk, Va. The following personnel of Engineering & Equipment Co. served as active pallbearers: A. C. Knight Jr., A. W. Holloway, Tom E. Young, Henry Long, Nelson Bruton Jr., George Whittlesey Jr., Dan Harris and T. E. Kennedy. The Albany Undertaking Company was in charge of arrrangements.
