Samuel Clark Perkins

ALBANY — Lt. Samuel Clark Perkins, 55, died Monday, October 28, 2002, at Phoebe 
Putney Memorial Hospital.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday from the sanctuary of Mt. Zion Baptist 
Church in Albany where the Rev. Daniel Simmons is the pastor and the Rev. 
Edward J. Heath will officiate.

Lt. Perkins was the son of the late John Flood and Willie B. Monds. He was 
joined in Holy matrimony on January 6, 1978, in Waycross, to Cynthia A. 
Perkins. He was educated in the public schools of Dougherty County, Albany 
State University and Georgia Southern University. He had worked for Albany 
Technical College, the Albany Police Department (retired), Albany State 
College, Dougherty County School System, Waycross School System, Bacon County 
School System, Harambee Child Development and Sears.

In addition to his loving and devoted wife of 24 years, survivors include five 
daughters, Samantha Perkins Washington (George) of Alma, Pamela A. Willis, U.S. 
Army, Fort Stewart, Jalyn N. Willis of Albany, Vanessa M. Willis and Tracy J. 
Hollmon, both of Marietta; one granddaughter, Shania Washington of Alma; four 
brothers, Edward Monds (deceased), John Flood (Dorothy), Willie Flood, Melvin 
Perkins; three sisters, Ida Brown (Thomas), Shirley Poole (George) and Ruby 
Perkins, all of Albany; one uncle, Benjamin Perkins (Mary) of Albany; one aunt, 
Alice Perkins of Tifton; a host of nieces, nephews and many sorrowing friends.
