Lloyd Phelps 

ALBANY — The funeral service of Lloyd “Buddy” Phelps, 81, of Milledgeville, GA, 
who died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, will be conducted Saturday at 3 p.m. at 
Mt. Heborn Baptist Church in Randolph County, GA. Rev Jack Williams will 
officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

A native of Randolph County, GA, Mr. Phelps had resided in Milledgeville for 
the past two years, moving from Thomasville, GA. He was a retired auto and 
diesel mechanic and was a member of Mt. Heborn Baptist Church. Mr. Phelps was 
preceded in death by his wife, Ona Cook Phelps and a daughter, Edna Foy. 

Survivors include four daughters, Peggy Mainor of Leesburg, Gail Thompson, Faye 
Wade and her husband Travis, Doris Escobar and Letishia Allen, all of Baconton, 
GA; two sons, Courtney Phelps and his wife, Debbie of Ocilla and Donald Phelps 
of Baconton; Seventeen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and four 
great-great grandchildren. 

The family will receive friends Friday, October 19, 2007, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. 
at Mathews Funeral Home. 

The family will be at the residence of Gail Thompson, 173 Miller Street, 
Baconton, GA 31716.
