The funeral will be at 3 p.m. today at Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Sale City with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Roy Carroll will officiate. Casketbearers will be: Roy Tomlinson, Bob Dixon, Cory Graham, John Beverly, and Warren Walker. A native of Richmond County, Mrs. Pitts was born July 28, 1908. She was the daughter of the late Ferris James and Leanna James. She was a member of Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church. She was the widow of William Mack Pitts and was preceded in death by two sons, James Clifford Pitts and William Earl Pitts. Survivors include four daughters, Louise Hall, Paul and Pauline Kunde, Paul and Evelyn Perry, and Betty Elliott, all of Doerun; two daughters-in-law, Joan Pitts of Albany and Marguerite Pitts of Doerun; 17 grandchildren; 22 great- grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Cool Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
