James Lee Polite Sr., 62, of Yorktown Avenue died Tuesday, December 31, 2002, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. today at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Albany with interment in Antioch Baptist Church cemetery. The Rev. Dr. Daniel Simmons, pastor, and the Rev. Donnie Ray Hall will officiate. A native of Worth County, the Rev. Polite was pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Albany and Friendship Baptist Church in Chula. He was also a truck driver for Concrete Enterprises Inc. of Albany. He was a member of New Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Acree. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, former president of the YMPC and chairman of the Blue Springs Missionary Baptist Union Meeting. He attended Worth County public schools. Survivors include his wife, Angela Jackson-Polite of Albany; one daughter, Dorothy Wright of Albany; four sons, James Polite Jr. of Clearwater, Fla., Anthony W. Polite and Kelvin C. Polite, both of Albany, and Anthony G. Clark of Atlanta; one sister, Anna Frazier-McCray of Albany; three brothers, the Rev. Dr. Raymond Polite and Prince Polite, both of Albany, and Linton Polite of South Bend, Ind.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The remains of the Rev. Polite will lie-in-state at the church today from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour.
