Born in Edgefield, SC, he had resided in Albany since 1997, moving there from Nashville. He was retired from Amoco Textiles as manager of specialty products. He had served in the National Guard during the Korean War and was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine R. Prince. Survivors include two sons, Ray E. Prince (Ilene) of Leesburg, Timothy P. Prince (Julie) of Sandy Springs; special friend, Joan Nobles of Toccoa; three brothers, William Prince, Edgar Prince and Ned Prince, all of Edgefield, SC; sister, Bess Tripp of Edgefield; two grandchildren, Paige Prince Swearingen of Thomasville and Kendra Fulford of Kennesaw. Funeral services were held August 5 at 11 a.m. at Mackey Funeral Home in Greenville, SC with Rev. Ken Kessler officiating. Interment followed at Greenville Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Mathews Funeral Home of Albany was in charge of arrangements.
