The funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 8, 2007, graveside in East View Cemetery, Shellman, GA. Mr. Robinett was born in Lovelace, Wilkes County, North Carolina, on June 3, 1925, son of the late G.E. Robinett and Beulah Henderson Robinett, and he grew up in Shellman. He was a WW II veteran. He served as a staff sergeant, USMCR at Peleliu with Mag-11 4th Marine Air Wing. Mr. Robinett was a partner in Robinett Brothers Lumber Co., Inc., President of Robinett Manufacturing Co., Inc.; President of Robinett Frame Co., Inc. and a partner of Star Dimensions, Inc. and Bennett Dimensions, Inc. In retirement, Mr. Robinett formed MR Productions, a video production company. He began TV ministries in two churches as well as the beginning of the Jimmy Carter Sunday School Class videos. Mr. Robinett was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawson where he was a former deacon and chairman of the Video Committee. As a long time member of First Baptist Church of Shellman, Mr. Robinett served in many capacities including deacon and Sunday School Director. In the community, he served on the Randolph County Hospital Authority for many years. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Laura Barfield Robinett; one son, the Rev. Jim Robinett (Nancy) of Jacksonville, FL; one daughter, Shirley (Tommy) McKinney of Swainsboro; four grandchildren, Ronda (Doug) Bauknight of Bu, the Rev. Scott (Christa) McKinney of Midville, Becky (Zachary) Milstead of Daphne, AL, James Walter Robinett Jr. of Panama City, FL; and five great-grandchildren.
