His funeral service will be WEDNESDAY 3PM at Kimbrell-Stern. The Reverends Tami and Jim Coleman will officiate. Mr. Rodd will be taken to Mitchell-Hughes Funeral Home, Marion, IL for graveside burial services on Saturday, September 15, 2007 at 11AM with full military honors at Oddfellows Cemetery. Mr. Rodd was born in Marion, IL, and moved to Albany in 1968 to work with Civil Service at the Naval Air Station. He retired from Civil Service in Albany, and worked with Rodd Electronics which was founded in September 1970. Mr. Rodd was retired from the US Air Force in 1961 as a Chief Warrant Officer with twenty years service. During his Air Force service, he participated in the Berlin Airlift. He continued his passion with aviation and became a private pilot and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. He was a former member of the First United Methodist Church of Albany. Mr. Rodd was preceded in death by his wife Irmo Tolbert Rodd and his son Daniel Rodd. He is survived by two sons: Ken Rodd, Jr. and his wife Jan, Albany, Larry Rodd and his wife Susie, Orlando, FL; 5 grandchildren: Jody Rodd and his wife Jennifer, Atlanta, Stacey Rodd Pivovar and her husband Michael, Minneapolis, MN, Chris Rodd and his wife Amber, Thomasville, GA, Carol Rodd and Candice Whiteside, Charlotte, NC, Mark Rodd, Orlando, FL; 3 great grandchildren: Jarod Pivovar, Ian Pivovar, and Kensley Rodd; a brother: Charles Rodd and his wife Faye, Marion, OH; a number of nieces and nephews.
