Roseen of Albany died June 27, 2007 at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. Mrs. Roseen was born in Moultrie, GA., but had lived in Albany most of her adult life. The funeral will be Monday, July 2, 2007 at Mathews Funeral Home, 3206 Gillionville Road, Albany. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., Pastor Earl Steffens officiating. A private interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery with Pastor Charles Thompson officiating. Mrs Roseen was retired from US Civil Service. She was an inventory control specialist at the Marine Corps Logistic Base and the Tank Automotive Command in Detroit, Michigan. Marie was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Following her retirement, church and church activities were an important part of her life. Marie loved her church; she loved her congregation. Marie was grateful for the many blessings received from God throughout her life. Unfortunately, good health was not one of them. Marie has endured numerous health problems in recent years, but her positive attitude and remarkable resiliency has allowed her to bounce from one hospitalization after another to continue to live and enjoy life to its fullest. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Marie was a believer; Marie is a believer! She is now in Heaven with her maker. No aches, no pain. Her health problems are no more. At last, she is at peace. Mrs. Roseen was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Bronnie Yawn, and by her previous husbands, George E. Weeks, Sr. and Clarence L. Haas. She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Roseen of Albany. Surviving children are George E. Weeks, Jr. ( Stacey); Jerry Weeks; Janis Weeks Pelham all of Albany; Walter “Cleve” Weeks (Pam) of McDonough, GA.; Deborah Haas Miller, Baltimore, MD; Kathryn Roseen Chugtai (Hafeez) of Joliet, IL; and Bill Roseen (Lenora) of Lilburn, GA. Surviving grandchildren are George E. Weeks, III “Trey” (Nicole);Robert Leppert; Jason Weeks; Mariah Weeks; Nicolas Weeks;, Jamie Marie Pelham; Robert D. Roseen; and Chris Curtis; as well as several great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a very special nephew and niece/daughter, Wesley and Jackie Pantone of Albany. In many ways Marie was prepared to die, but she didn’t want go go just yet. There were still things to do, family to care for, grand-babies to be held, and friends to bid a final farewell—old friends, new friends, church friends, and the special friends of her beloved No Name Dinner Club. To each she would say, “Good-by for now, until we meet again.” Amen! The family will receive friends at the Roseen residence, 4420 La Costa Drive, Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Building Fund, Trinity Lutheran Church, 1508 Whispering Pines Road, Albany, Georgia, 31707; to the Cleveland Clinic or to your charity of choice.
