Memorial services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville, with the Rev. Weyman Cleveland and the Rev. Jerry Lott officiating. Visitation will be held today (Sunday), from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. There will be a second memorial service to be held on Tuesday, at 11 a.m. at the Dahlonega United Methodist Church in Dahlonega, with the Rev. Gerry Davis and the Rev. Charles William officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem/ Jones Cemetery in Dahlonega. Mrs. Rumble was born in Dahlonega, on June 25, 1929 to the late Fred C. and Ada M. Jones. She graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1946, attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega, and married Neal Rumble Sr. on September 11, 1949. Betty spent 20 years in Thomasville before moving to Warner Robins, where she began an impressive 15 year career in Real Estate. She became a life member of the Million Dollar Round Table, was named Realtor of the Year, and Citizen of the Year by the Board of Realtors. In 1996, Betty and Neal retired to Lake Seminole and she went to work in Real Estate for Burke Realty, where she retired in July 2002. After surviving a bout of cancer in 1983, "Miss" Betty immediately began a 20 year span of service with the American Cancer Society. She undertook this project with great enthusiasm pride for the mission of the ACS until her last days. She was honored in 1993-94 with both of Georgia's highest awards: the Quality of Life Award and the Reach to Recovery Award. She was also active in starting the Relay for Life Program for Seminole County. She was active member of the Friendship United Methodist and the Addie Brigham Sunday School Class. She was characterized by an unwavering faith in God and has served all of her churches in various roles ranging from Sunday School Teacher to South Georgia Conference Delegate. She was also a life time member of the United Methodist Women's Club. She was also a member of the Donalsonville Garden Club and the Donalsonville Woman's Club. "Miss" Betty was distinguished by a life of service to many and varied community service organizations. Mrs. Rumble leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband of 53 years; Neal Rumble Sr.; four children, Neal Jr. and wife, Charlotte of Bainbridge, Anne Rumble of Dothan, AL, Leah Dixon of Marietta, SC, and Frederick Bert Rumble of Panama City, FL; one sister, Llenell Sanderson of Alpharetta; five grandchildren, Ansley Gambrell, Louie Gambrell, Al Rumble, Heather Dugas, and Chad Dugas; and three great-grandchildren, Madison Shirley, Dreyton Dugas and Cheyenne Dugas.
