The funeral service will be Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery. Dr. William D."Biff" Coker officiating. A native of Inman, SC, Mr. Settle moved to Albany in 1961, where he was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, Golden K Kiwanis Club, a Shriner, and was retired sales manager from US Steel Agri Chemicals. Mr. Settle was a 1941 graduate of Clemson University, and served in the United States Army Infantry during World War II, and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Love of North Wilkesboro, NC, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, Sam Settle of Horseshoe, NC, David Settle and Ralph Settle of Inman, SC; two sisters, Mary Louise Raines of Inman, Betty Tomlinson of Spartanburg, SC; and number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Settle was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Steadman Settle, and a son, Holly Settle. The family will receive friends following the service, and will be at the residence of Mrs. H.H. Settle, 2520 Whispering Pines Road, Albany, GA 31707. Those desiring please make memorials to Covenant Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 2126 W. Edgewater Drive, Albany, GA 31707.
