The funeral service of Betty Jean Shanley, 79, of Lynwood Drive, Leesburg, GA, 
who died August 18, 2007 will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 P.M. at Mathews 
Funeral Home.  Pastor Mark Knight will officiate.  Cremation will follow. 

A native of Fulton County, GA, Mrs. Shanley grew up in Calhoun County and 
graduated from Edison High School.  She was a LPN and graduated from Nursing 
School in Augusta. 

Mrs. Shanley retired from Albany Water Gas and Light in 1987 and along with her 
husband, Robert, she managed Gulf Beach Camp Ground in Sarasota, FL.  She moved 
to the Albany area in 2001 and was a member of Living Waters Christian 
Fellowship Church. 

Survivors include her husband, Robert M. Shanley, two sons, Fred Bailey, of 
Roscoe, Texas and Tommy Bailey of Albany, GA, five stepchildren, Helen Holt and 
her husband, Glenn, of Patricksprings,Virginia, Robin Bushnell and her husband, 
Curry, of Albany, GA, Cathy Shanley, of Sarasota, FL, Lannie Sullivan and her 
husband, Charles, of Englewood, FL and Jimmy Bradley and his wife, Jenna, of 
Englewood, FL, fourteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.    

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:00 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at 
Mathews Funeral Home.
