Virginia McHan Shellhouse

CUTHBERT — Virginia McHan Shellhouse, 79, of Cuthbert died Wednesday, December 
18, 2002, at Joe-Anne Burgin Nursing Home in Cuthbert. The funeral services 
will be announced later.

Mrs. Shellhouse was born June 12, 1923, in Randolph County daughter of the late 
William Henry McHan and Josie Todd McHan. She was retired from Kellwood 
Company, was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and was married to the 
late Hubert L. Shellhouse.

Survivors include four sons, William Wesley Shellhouse and his wife Ruby, 
Marvin Hubert Shellhouse and his wife Patricia, Charles Ladon Shellhouse and 
Richard David Shellhouse, all of Cuthbert; five daughters, Betty Louise 
Marshall and her husband Carl of Eufaula, AL, Sara Hayes and her husband Jimmy 
of Leesburg, Clara Kingsmill and her husband Darrell of Erin, TN, Josie Palmer 
and her husband Charlie of Hephzibah and Nell Tomblin and her husband John of 
Shellman; a sister, Sadie Bryant of Bronwood; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-
grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends today from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
