Christopher Columbus Smith Jr.

SYLVESTER — Christopher Columbus Smith Jr., 74, of N. Ayers St., Sylvester, 
died Saturday, May 6, 2006, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester 
with interment in Shepard Memorial Gardens in Sylvester. The Rev. Lester Knox, 
pastor will officiate.

Born December 25, 1931, in Worth County, Mr. Smith was educated in the Worth 
County Public School System. He is a 1950 graduate of Oak Hill High School in 
Sylvester. Mr. Smith served in the U.S. Army. He was a small and large engine 
repairman at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Albany having retired after 30 
years of service. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Sylvester.

Survivors include four daughters, Elaine James of Newnan, Annette White of 
Conley, Greta Smith of Macon and Jacqueline Smith of Sylvester; goddaughter, 
Bobbye Wilson of Albany; two sons, Aubrey Smith of Albany, Jimmy Smith of 
Albany; one sister, Ruth Allen of Sylvester; two brothers, J.B. Smith of Macon 
and Willie D. Smith of Sylvester.
