Hazel C. Spence

ATLANTA — Hazel C. Spence, 85, died at A.G. Rhodes Nursing Home in Atlanta, on 
Sunday, December 22, 2002. She was born in Garden Gove, Iowa, and lived in 
Albany for many years before moving to Atlanta in 1981. Mrs. Spence retired 
from Coats and Clark Inc. in 1974. She was a member of the First Baptist Church 
in Albany. Mrs. Spence's husband, Henry I. "Jelly" Spence, preceded her in 
death.

Survivors include two daughters, Louise and Jane Spence, both of Atlanta; a son 
and daughter-in-law, H. Warner "Bunk" and Celeste Spence of Statesboro; and two 
grandsons, William and Christopher Spence.

A memorial service, officiated by the Rev. Joe Morecraft, will be held in 
Atlanta at Cathedral Tower at 11 a.m. today (Monday).
