Jethro Spicer 

ALBANY — The graveside funeral service of Jethro “Sonny Boy” Spicer of 
Sweetbriar Rd., Albany, who died Sunday, October 14, 2007, at Palmyra Medical 
Centers will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery. The Rev. Richard 
J. Pogue will officiate. 

A native of Mitchell County, Mr. Spicer was a retired Dougherty County School 
System custodian. 

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; one daughter, Myrtle Henderson of Miami, 
FL; three adopted sons, Charles (Karon) Thomas of Leesburg, FL, Eric (Shirley) 
Thomas of Virginia and Floyd Thomas of Columbus, GA; two adopted daughters, 
Bobbie Thomas and Sharon (Jacob) Strawder of Albany, GA; one sister, Grace 
(Samuel) Mills of Albany; two brothers, Walter (Marilyn) Spicer of Elizabeth, 
NJ, and Ulysses (Dorothy) Spicer of Huntington, NY; 15 grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
