Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Monday from the Bethel Baptist Church in Sumter County, with interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. in the Story-Odum Cemetery, Acorn Pond Baptist Church, in Worth County. The Rev. Bryan Bentley will officiate. Mrs. Story, a native of Sumner, was born January 12, 1912, a daughter of the late Dr. Walter Wesley Sessions and Verlin Frances Veasey Sessions. She was the wife of the late Carl Jackson Story who preceded her in death on January 18, 2000. Mrs. Story was a 1931 graduate of Georgia State College for Women, now known as Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. She was an elementary school teacher in Bridgeboro and Collins, and in the Westside Elementary School in Warner Robins. She was a very active member of the Bethel Baptist Church, a member of the Ladies Sunday School Class, and a leader in the Women's Missionary Union. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, 846 Lane Store Road, Americus, GA 31709. The family will receive friends at Mrs. Story's residence, Middle River Road, from 2 p.m.-5 p.m. on today (Sunday). Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce S. and Doug Carreker of Americus; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert L. Story of Warner Robins, John M. and Donna Story of Charlotte, NC; a sister, Martha Dean Blackstock of Sumner; grandchildren, Vicki and Jeff Jones and Susan and Bob Doughtry, all of Warner Robins, Russ and Patti Carreker of Columbus, Erica Story of Charlotte, NC, Emily and Kenny Spikes of Suwanee, Clarke and Chris Story of Commerce, MI; 12 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret S. Sinclair, and by three brothers, Dr. H. Karl Sessions, William (Mack) Sessions and W. Wesley Sessions.
