The Rev. Chris Turner and the Rev. Perry Lamey will officiate. Interment will follow in Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery. A native of Montgomery, AL., Mr. Thompson had resided in Worth Co. for the past 20 years moving from Orlando, FL. He was a technical mechanic in construction and a member of Lighthouse Ministries. Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. C.A. and Francis Waddell, a uncle, Buford Waddell, cousins, Jane Hardester, Eddie Lamey, Gregory Lamey, Katarina Price and Greg Goodin. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Lynn Jones Thompson of Albany, GA; three sons, Gary Gene Thompson, II and Cainan Andrew Thompson both of Albany, Jeremy Holt of Greenwood, AL; his mother, Essie Waddell Singleton of Albany, GA; his father, Leslie Richard Thompson of Mesa, AZ., three brothers and their wives, David D. Thompson (Lorraine) of Albany, GA., Billy Ray Watson (Amy) of Orlando, FL, Stephen H. Singleton (Dana), New York, NY.; two sisters and their husbands, Pat Diamond (Clyde), of Boston, GA. and Sandey Sigmon (Larry), Statesville, NC and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. The family is at the residence of Essie Waddell Singleton, Moultrie Rd., Albany, GA. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Mathews Funeral Home.
