Mr. Tyson a native of Colquitt County, GA was born November 14, 1927; He is the son of the late Benjamin Franklin & Rhodia Thomas Tyson. He was a Veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict and the Viet Nam Era. Daughter, Carol Brunswick preceded him in death. He attended Faith Baptist Church in Blackshear GA and was employed as a sheet metal mechanic at a commercial fan factory. Graveside Services and interment were held 2:00 pm Sunday, August 08, 2010 at the Carver Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Revis Wasdin officiating. Darrell Tyson, Soloist/Guitarist sang “Amazing Grace” at the graveside. Survivors include: Wife, Doris Tyson , Blackshear GA, Sons, Benjamin G. Tyson, Albany GA and Michael Tyson, Valley AL, Step-son, Kevin (Anne) Livingston, Dublin GA and Stepdaughter, Karen (Dr. Hayes) Williams, Bessemer AL, Brothers, Paul Tyson, Baconton GA and Robert S. Tyson, Andersonville GA, Sister, Joyce Gray, Springdale WA, Several grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren. Sims Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
