Joseph (Joe) was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice M. (Babe) [Maricq] Wahl who died on February 8, 1994, and daughter Mary Josephine (Mary Jo) who died on July 31, 2003. Two sisters, Regina (Wahl) Campbell and Gertrude (Wahl) Harpster are also deceased. He was the son of the late George A. and Carrie (Kuhn) Wahl of Altoona, PA. He is survived by his daughters, Mrs. Anne G. Dixon and her husband James of Hackettstown, NJ and Susan R. D’Ambrosio and her husband Philip of San Antonio, TX with whom he resided. Also surviving are grandchildren: Jameson of East Stroudsburg, PA, John and Joseph Dixon of Hackettstown, NJ; Mrs. Forrest (Michelle A.) Richardson and Mrs. Ben (Kathryn R.) Barton, all of San Antonio, five great-grandchildren, and a sister-in-law, Catherine (Maricq) Seidel of Altoona, PA and several nieces and nephews. Joe was a member of Knights of Columbus of St. Teresa’s Parish of Albany, GA. He was also active for many years with the Thronateeska Heritage Museum of Albany, GA and remembered as the “engineer” of the model railroad he constructed in the Thronateeska railroad cars at the former Albany Depot. He was a resident of Albany, GA from 1977 until 2003. The private graveside service of Joseph F. Wahl will be held Saturday at 10:00 AM at Floral Memory Gardens Cemetery for family and close friends. He will be interred with his beloved wife and daughter. Rev. Raymond Levreault will officiate.
