He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., having served during World War II. Mr. Walden was a retired automobile mechanic with the Civil Service. Following his retirement Mr. Walden drove a School Bus for the Dougherty County Public School System and Deerfield Windsor School. He was a Member of the First Baptist Church of Putney, serving as a youth Sunday School teacher. He was also an active volunteer with the Putney Community Center. Mr. Walden was a member of the Masonic Lodge 591 and the Hasan Temple. The family will receive friends at Kimbrell-Stern on Wednesday, July 16, 2003 from 7 PM till 8:30 PM. The funeral service will be held Thursday, 11AM at First Baptist Church Putney with Dr. David Benton officiating. Interment will follow at Crown Hill Cemetery.
